It's almost the summer and we all know what that means- the Team Shootout. The one time a year where the manufacturers put together a 5 person team to try and claim the title of best ball company in the country (at least for that year).
All of the teams seem to have a similar lineup this year, with a few changes.
Brunswick: Parker Bohn III, Chris Loschetter, Tom Smallwood, Ronnie Russell, Sean Rash
Ebonite International: Chris Barnes, Mike Fagan, Tommy Jones, Mika Koivuniemi, Bill O'Neill
900 Global: Missy Parkin, Michael Haugen Jr, Steve Jaros, Brian Voss, Robert Smith
Storm: Norm Duke, Jason Belmonte, Wes Malott, Ryan Shafer, Pete Weber
It looks like the teams have basically the same lineup as last year with a few changes. It's interesting that Walter Ray was not invited to come back this summer and play for his new team Ebonite (he was signed to Track last season after 900 Global didn't renew his contract). In a way, it would have been nice to see him get revenge on his old team that he was on last year. Ebonite keeps the same lineup as last year. Missy Parkin adds something new to the team, taking over for WRW. Steve Jaros comes back to 900 Global after leaving their pro staff since his new position does not allow him to do that, hence becoming a free agent. We all remember the shows where he threw Storm/Roto Grip earlier this year. Shafer makes his summer debut filling in for Brian Kretzer, who really didn't throw it all that well last year in the heat.
The special treat this year is seeing the return of Brian Voss and Robert Smith. Yes, the Robert Smith known as "Maximum Bob." Both of them in my opinion have always been fun to watch.
