In an attempt to get some newer equipment out on the lanes in our house, I'm trying to set up a few of our top average bowlers. The guy I'm working with right now throws the ball 17-18 mph and has a rev rate around 350. He comes around the side a fair amount (guessing 65-70 degrees rotation), but has a fairly high track (within an inch to an inch and a half of fingers/thumb...so not too much tilt).
The problem is the ball selection and layout. I want something new (high-end) that the other league bowlers will see and say, "WOW, this ball rolls great, I want one." The problem is that in our house the shot is light oil (HPL synthetics...believe it is buffed to 36'). I suspect most new high-end equipment may be just too aggressive... Currently this bowler throws a blue urethane hammer... Is there anything current that he would be able to control with the proper layout and surface on these types of conditions?
