Bad News from the Local Sawbones.
« on: October 07, 2008, 11:47:58 AM »
Week ago Sunday, during a practice session, I heard a large POP in my bowling shoulder, then a grinding noise, then a sharp pain. I bowled a few more frames, then quit. Three days later, the pain was gone so I bowled one league. Then the past Sunday, my shoulder really started to hurt during practice, so I quit in the middle of the session.

Went to my regular doctor today, he said I had torn my bicep at the shoulder end. Tomorrow morning I go for an MRI and next week to the Sports Medicine doctor. Probably have surgery, then long term rehab for months.

Not a fun prognosis, especially at 74 years old. Guess I have simply worn out my shoulder after all these years of bowling. Boo, Hoo!

Never to old to learn to bowl with the other hand. Give it a try if you really like bowling, I know I would.

Wow, sorry to hear of your injury. I wish you a speedy recovery and if things don't work out be glad you got to bowl that long, I hope that I somehow make it to that age and still can bowl.

Welcome to the club. I tore my biceps tendons back in 2003.

who would wanna completely relearn the game at 74 years old?

74 years old, he's probably got a little free time on his hands.
