Guys,
First, I want to congratulate Belgarion on a fine game and set. Many others wish they could be so fortunate.
Now, on to the Elite balls. Nothing really "wrong" with the Elite brand balls. What the thing is with them, I believe, is that they
are older technology weightblocks.
I think that started people talking about them being way over priced for the technology used in them. Many of the early Elite balls used Brunswick tech from almost 10 years back. Not that it was bad tech, just mid class stuff that Elite marketed as premium and asked a premium price for. That fact jaded many against them.
Now, to make things worse, Elite continues to market their equipment as premium, even offering to sell you a top line ball from other companies for a great discount if bought with one of theirs. I won't go into any further explanation, but you can see how people got biased against them pretty quickly.
Theres a lot to be said for the older tech balls. Even with ten year old technology, they are still
lightyears ahead of the old urethane and plastic balls of the 80's and 90's.
P.S. Ever heard of a guy named Albert "Allie" Brandt? Back in 1939, he shot the highest series ever shot up until then, an 886 ( 297-289-300 ) that held the record for over 50 years. What technology was he using then?
