crazy nite
« on: March 04, 2004, 08:19:59 AM »
went 256, 266, had the front nine and I thought I threw a very good ball on my 10th shot, and left an 8-10 split. I wasn't worried about shooting 300 again but I wanted the 800....ended up with 788. Anybody have something crazy like that happen before??

Thanks,
Tim

Good bowling, I did that a couple of weeks ago.  778 for me.

Ouch!  Great set, but ouch!  So close to have one frame ruin it.

first night bowling in 5 years I shot a 280 and a 257...had a realistic shot at 800...needed the first 2 in the tenth to almost guranetee my 800...shot the ball..I had been carrying high ALL night...not that time...left a 4-9...actually...ball didn't come in very high at all, was in the pocket more than a couple of my other shots...but to no avail...finished with a 771

Great bowling. I think shooting an 800 is a lot more impressive than a hand full of 300's. I'm 47 and I recently shot my 1st 800 last month. Several years ago I needed to get the 1st strike in the 10th to get the 800, got the strike and then left a greek church (4,6,7,9,10) missed the 800. I was sick for a week. So I know your pain, hang in there still a great series.

Before I shot 800 last month, a couple of months ago. I had another change to shoot 800, needed a strike on the last shot to shoot 800 even. Left a 10 pin, 799. When I finally shot 804, had the first nine left a 4,7,10 thought I missed the 800 again was upset, and than was told that I did shot 800.It felt good to get the monkey off my back. Never give up, good things happen to good people.

Never had a 300 but shot 254-286-279 819.  The strange thing was a foul 7 in the 3rd frame of the 1st game.  I never foul and ended up face first 10 feet down the lane.  In fact now that I think of it maybe that's why I had about 25 boards to play with!

In one tournament, I started 278-288, but noticed at the end of the 2nd game that the lanes were starting to really break down.  Sooo, I make a pretty good move to find some oil and left a rack ripping 5-7.  The really demoralizing part was that I think the only thing that saved me from leaving the lilly was that the ball took out the 10 pin.

I'm sick myself after blowing a great chance at 700 last night.  234, and easy 250+ game in the second.  Threw a little light coming off 4 in a row in the tenth, for a 2-8-10.  Took count, and never got going again.  160 final game.  I let one shot screw up my whole night
