Finding cg by using a scale
« on: January 13, 2009, 04:34:28 PM »
I just got 2 NIB balls with low top and long pins...blems for sure. I want to check to see if the cg's are marked correctly...(there are multiple cg marks)

How do I go about finding the correct cg. Using a scale of course.

Thanks for the imput.

That is the way I would do it.

gracias.

Let's assume that there isn't a label, would you just pick any spot to begin this process???

Yeah that works, normally its easier if you just try the marked CG first and go from there, lane 1 says the label because they don't actually mark their CG's IIRC, they leave the label and 99% of the time the CG is inside it.

Not a problem, I was taught that method by my proshop guy, almost identical to how it is worded on the Lane 1 site. Its nice that they have it on their site as its a lot easier to post a link to it than write it out and hope you word it correctly lol.

It's best if your initial line is within about 1" from the cg.  If it will help you keep the rotations straight, just draw a diamond similar to the Lane 1 logo on the ball and use that.  When I've located the cg I like to start over with the initial line closer to the cg I located and confirm it.  --  JohnP
