Finger dancing! Slow speed and Rev dominance!
« on: September 02, 2012, 07:56:52 PM »
I've noticed a bunch of posts about Rev dominance and slow speed in this section.

I thought I would post a little bit about a wonderful practice session I had today.

My house has gone from easy for me to harder.  Where before it had oil at the foul line out, they now have a official 18 inch bone dry buffer for safety after the foul line(yes the birthday party, drunk and can't read crew) for their own protection.  (it is necessary, I agree).

My speed when throwing good near 15(that is only the good days) and revs near 325 with lots of side roll.  Can you say happy when wet and sad when dry.

Lately I have been looping the lane with low diff balls with .35 diff like my sonic boom that loop from 14 to 9, and then carries quite nicely.  All of sudden as more dryness has been creeping in to this I'm standing 34 looping 17 out and struggling to stay left of the pocket.  I've drilled some stronger balls lately and if the 0.35 diff balls can't stay left the stronger stuff is disastrous.

Today after many many 9s and lots of 6 pins and bleeding off of energy I made some changes.

First of all I have been increasing speed slightly by keeping my foot speed increasing during my approach.

2nd I moved my index finger from out away from my other fingers to right next to my other fingers.  Strangely Step 3 I tucked my baby finger(this usually gives me more backend with my index finger out)  but with my index finger in it seemed to add up to more forward roll and more speed and a much more direct line.

6 strikes in a row, and then 9 out of 11 with a ball that was unusable 5 minutes earlier!

I'll take it.

Finger dancing first introduced to me by, Ron Clifton of this site(Magic Carpet), dramatic effects can be had!

Thanks, Magic!
