Anybody use urethane ball
« on: October 13, 2006, 03:03:54 AM »
I've been struggling with my reactive balls hooking so violently this year (user error I know) I was thinking of trying a Scout urethane ball until I get my game back together. I was wondering if anybody had success with a modern urethane ball? Looking for a more consistent/even ball reaction.

Go with the Slate Blue Gargoyle, Trooper, or an XXL if you can find one.  Better cores than the Scout or Groove urethanes.  Those are all pearlized, though, which may not be what you want.  The Scout and Groove are both solids.

The Slate Blue Gargoyle is a great pearl urethane ball with a dynamic core.  I have mine sanded up to 1500 grit, then polished with Degree 2000 grit polish.  It goes straight longer and doesn't snap as hard on the backend as even a mild reactive resin ball, but still hits hard and carries well.  --  JohnP
