Started off the season pretty good, my composite was around 223 for the first 7 weeks between 3 different leagues, plus 1500 pins even betweeen two weeks subbing on another league, and had my first 800. About then, work started getting busy (plus still having my 16 hours a week of school) and I moved in with my girlfriend, and life was a little hectic for a few weeks, so I was tired at league, and had a few off weeks. Figured once things got back on track, I'd get back to normal. Well, my shot was kinda screwed up, and it was two months of 570's, 560's, and even a couple 540's. It was never quite perfect, but it had been working well. I've had ups and downs, but have never just dropped off the face of the earth like that, especially after I'd been throwing the ball well.
Took an old bowling tape in to my buddy Brian at the pro shop, and inside of 15 minutes, he figured out that my span was too long. I was gripping the ball too much and couldn't get anything on it. So the week after a 590 and 540, I shot 660, 773 and 720. I'm just absolutely amazed that something at stupid as 1/8th of an inch would cause that big of a problem . .
