Could you please tell me which are the best inserts in your opinion.
At the moment I use Vise inserts and I find them very good, but with changing my action I find that I get a lot of friction burns on my middle finger. So I was wondering if you found that some makes were softer than others. Should I just wait until I get used to the change and my finger tips harden up and then hopefully it shouldnt bother me any more.
Opinions please.
Many thanks.

From my experience unless you are using a style of finger inserts with little nubs/bumps in them then I wouldn't blame the inserts. Rather I would look to either your overall pitches or span. If your either is too severe you will get finger burn.

Grips are a personal preference item. The ones I got from Contour are incredibly soft, and I can foresee having to change them out very frequently. I also liked the TenthFrame, but others report they are too soft for their preference. The ViseGrips had to come out of the balls I put them in because they were too hard for my preference.

LOL Rags...I hit the send key one time...then it took forever trying to get it to acknowledge the delete icon. I actually had to revert to dialup in order to accomplish that little task

Well, the softer the grips, the more they will be replaced. I myself use Turbo.

I have Vice in my new stuff and Turbo's in one of my older balls. Personally, I find the Turbo's softer and more comfortable. I am also getting callouses on my fingertips due to the Vice's.

I have to agree with Michelle. I normally use Contour Power System Super Softs for my inserts. Yes, I do have to replace the Super Softs a little more frequently, but I really like the feel of them. And, I've tried Tenth Frame with good success, although I still prefer the Super Softs. I haven't tried Vise Grips, but from what I've felt of them, I don't think that I'd like them. I tried Turbo grips too, but they were literally breaking the blood vessels in my fingertips, not to mention the fingertip burning associated with them.
I place my vote for the Contour Power System Super Softs.

When my span is too long, Too much forward pitch on the grips(remember grips provide almost 1/4 inch forward), and hard grips one will get friction burns.
Solutions less span, less drastic a touch of revese on fingers combined with softer grips.
Any one of the above could solve the problem.

PS softer grips are Contours as above, 10th frame(a lot of forward pitch however, turbo quad softs.
