Not sor sure but in the past AMF Amflite's were/are produced in upstate New York.

Brunwick's in the old Vulcan Mfg. plant in Antigo, WI.  but it closed in Jan 08 so not sure where Brunswick gets theirs now.  http://www.jsonline.com/business/29565809.html

The AMF plant makes the Brunswick pins now.  They are pretty much now the same pin as the AMFLITE since the Brunswick design was scrapped once the pin manufacturing was moved to NY.

So, does this mean that all pins (except "exotics") are basically the same regardless of the name on them?

Are Twisters and other nylon pins still made?

Also, let us have a moment of silence (I'm guessing, anyway) for the Mendes pins with the washer in the top that were used in conjunction with the magnetic pinsetters. Probably the best pinsetter technology to ever come down the pike but it just couldn't make enough money to survive...

Our house had Mendes scoring, not pinsetters though, and it was obsolete when it was installed in 1996.  In 2000, we were negotiating upgrading to the new software and they were promising us the world.  Needless to say, they went belly up before anything was in ink.  It''s a shame, I heard their new stuff was pretty good...
