Chad Murphy on the US Open lofting - yeah, it's special
« on: October 30, 2017, 07:01:07 AM »
So the leader of the free world gets on Facebook and utters several paragraphs full of the most mouth dropping stupidity.  Lofting is the story at the US Open, excessive and ridiculous lofting.  So Chad proceeds to get on Facebook and after cherry picking 3 videos of a single shot thrown, 2 from guys with a rev rate of 1.5, and the other from Belmo on the fresh, and says this:

"Three videos below.  These three guys are in 7th, 12th, and 14th.  The first two were on the double burn game five last night, then Belmonte on the fresh yesterday.  If you only saw these three videos, would you think there was anything wrong with the event?  The three bowlers using the extreme loft that has been circulated throughout the internet are in 64th, 69th, and 128th at this point.  Which group is playing them correctly?  The results would say the first group.  When it's stated we 'forced' everyone to loft, well, that looks suspect in these 3 videos.  Based on the data, it looks like maybe we penalized those who did.  To be clear, it's a choice the players make on what they see."

And another quote further down:

"No one is being forced to launch the ball as the videos indicate and the opinions drive.  There is oil on the lane to the right if the choice is made, these three pictures below show it in great detail.  Things with this event are good no matter what you read on the internet."

The basic idea here is he's saying, "the ditch is in play, if you choose to loft, well, you're just clueless."  So first of all, 95% of the best bowlers on the planet are stupid, that's the insinuation here, because I don't know who else watched the whole double burn squad last night like I did and saw that the only people not lofting the gutter were Danielle McEwan and the lefties.  Furthermore, if you saw these "3 cherry picked videos of guys lofting it," and just took it and ran, you're an idiot too, because here's MY 3 cherry picked videos that I just happened to get when guys were experimenting with a different line.  Never mentioned that the videos of guys lofting weren't misrepresenting the field as a whole, they were just the most extreme examples.

Duke's 240 block came playing a fallback shot from 5th arrow, he was fading it into the pocket.  Belmo was lofting 25 feet in game 5 on double burn last night.  Jason Sterner had some really solid games lofting it to the arrows.  A few guys tried the ditch, but here's the thing, what happens on a tough shot when you're playing the twig and miss right?  You're getting 5 or 6 if you're lucky.  Urethane wasn't working for anyone.  If you are playing the twig and miss left into all that track burn, it's 3 off the left with reactive.

Summary here:  There are people lofting 20ish feet.  There are people injuring themselves and withdrawing, there are people withdrawing due to embarrassment, there are people withdrawing to prevent both of those things before the WSOB and a TON of bowling starts next week, and all of this is being done by the best bowlers on the planet rather than playing the ditch like Chad says is totally doable.  So the pros are idiots, and the viewers are idiots too.  The level of stupid here is beyond comprehension.

Is the excessive lofting the reason why Pete withdrew?

I guess Pete just can't handle the "integrity" part of the game. At least according to Chad "Full of Crap" Murphy's reasoning.

If Pete cant get it through the front, theres a major problem.

I am sure the proprietors are just ecstatic everyone is going to be practicing their lofting now like the pros.  Have to master the loft now to win after all.
Kind of noob when made this account so take advice with grain of salt.

No way, he can't be making enough money for even the most desperate to accept that fate.  ;D

I don't know her, but she may be bat shit crazy.  Remember, for every hot chic out there, there is somebody tired of bangin' her.
