Finger pitches
« on: October 30, 2017, 03:25:09 PM »
If you increase forward pitch in your ball  and you already have finger pain would the pain increase cause your fingers are bending more.  Or is that something you can't determine.

If the finger pain you already have is being caused by too much forward pitch for your spans and finger joint flexibility then, yes the pain will increase.  --  JohnP

I have 1/8 reverse pitch.  If I make it forward will my pain increase or decrease.

If you don't know what's causing the pain in the first place, you can't exactly answer the question of whether changing pitches one way or the other would increase or decrease your pain.

You should go in and have your grip evaluated at the proshop, Have your spans, joint flexibility and pitches checked.

I switched from power lift ovals to ovals with nubs and that's when it started.  So I assume it's that.  Never hurt before.  I was just curious if increases or decreasing pitch would cause pain.  But I guess it's something you can't determine til you try it or have your pso tell you.  Thanks.

When you increase forward pitch by switching grips and your fingers start hurting it's a pretty good guess that the change caused the pain.  --  JohnP

I was having finger pain.  I consulted with my pro shop and we made a couple of changes.  He pitched the fingers away and went to a firmer insert.  That helped a lot.

I actually decreased the forward pitch and they started hurting.  Try it the old way and see if that helps.
