Finger slugs...?!?
« on: November 19, 2004, 01:04:18 AM »
Why is it I've never heard of this before? I mean, I know what the purpose of a thumbs slug is...but finger slugs? Just in case you think I'm off my rocker, check this out:

Have finger slugs been out for a while? Sorry if I'm making a big deal out of this, but I've just never seen this before. Heck, this might be my answer for not having inserts. I don't like putting my fingers or thumb in a ball bare at all. Anyone on the forums use them? Thanks.

When you've moved up, moved back, adjusted left and right, cupped, flattened out, have thrown everyting in your arsenal, and the pins still don't cooperate, just say, "Aw to HELL with it!", and throw the ball!

I know of one guy who has them, but he put them in a used ball.  His span was a little bit shorter than whoever had it drilled, so instead of plugging, he popped in some finger slugs and drilled them out to his span.  I asked him about it once, and he says he doesn't really notice much difference compared to his other stuff that doesn't have slugs or insterts.  That's on the fingers though, he won't throw without a thumb slug.
