Hi all,
I must say that I am extactic about my first 600 game, it was actually a 631(203,258,170). It has taken me some time to get to this point. But the bad thing is that it was the first night of league and my average is now 210. And I know that you are saying what is the problem, well I have never averaged over 160 in a league before. I am afraid that next week I won't live up to the HIGH standards I have set. The funny thing is I had the highest game of the night, that has never happened to me before, but I am gonna try my best to keep my avg up. But I really don't care, I just want to have fun.

Congratulations I was in the same situation
a couple of months ago. I bowled a 667 and
it was 172 over average for the night. If
you can do it once you can do it again.
Don't worry about your average that will
take care of itself. Just enjoy your success

Congratulations on your first 600 series! I still recall mine too, and I can go back to my sanctioned 600+ Series Logbook and I can tell you the series, date, game scores, pair of lanes, house, and the league that I bowled it on, and I'm talking over a decade ago! Now's your chance to start your own 600+ Series Logbook too, since you have your first entry already. Also, congrats on a fine 258 game!
That first sanctioned 600 is a milestone indeed. Now, the next barrier is the 700 barrier. But, in the meanwhile, keep up with all of your sanctioned 600's too....it can make for a good souvenir, and it can give you an idea of your progression of your game.
As for setting a high average, don't sweat it. This should give you the momentum to see just how high you can keep the average up during the summer league. Also, if you have a winter league average on the books, the higher summer average won't hurt you come tournament time, since most tournaments want winter league averages.
I too did something like you did a few years back on a summer league. On the first night of the league, I shot 244, 226, 299 > 769, setting a 256 average! Of course, my average came back down to earth before the end of the summer league.....I'm not even a 220 averager, so it didn't take long to bring down the 256 average. Don't sweat the average.

Thanks everybody, you are so supportive, thats why I just looovvveee this site. And u know what 10? I got my little log book all ready haha. I don't have a winter league average because I am in college and I can't bowl until the Summer.

Way to go!!! Woot, Woot!!!
Hopefully many more to come!

Don't worry about living up to it every week. It will all even out. My first 600 was not that long ago. It is a great feeling enjoy it and keep them coming.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

I have only about a 179 composite average, yet quite frequently I shoot a 600 the first week of league, then come down to earth. As a matter of fact, last summer I averaged over 200 for 2 consecutive weeks to start off the season. My teammates get a little annoyed at it, but I can't do less than my best.
Congratulations on your first 600! May you have many, many more.

I guess the one good thing is, well hopefully, I won't have to bowl my average. Its a 4 man team and my other teammates have 50+ pin handicaps. And NOOOOO they weren't sandbagging. lol. But if they play like they normally do, that should let me slack off. And if they don't well I guess I'll just step up my game, its just that simple. lol I wish. I'll let you guys know what happens on Tues. that is when I bowl.

Congratulations on the 600.
As far as starting out the league with a high series, I think a lot of us have done that. Hopefully this is a sign that you are going to have a great season. Bowl good and have fun.
