First 800? Lol, whatever Jesse . .

Last week in a scratch league here, Jesse James, owner of 3 In the Zone Pro Shop locations in Topeka, KC, and Lawrence, shot 276-278-280 for 834.  We have a weekly bowling column in our paper with scores from the last week, and some comments from bowlers that have topped 800.  Come to find out, it was Jesse's first 800.  I'd posted something last week if I'd have known that, thought it was just another day at the office for him.  Yeah, 834 is a huge number for anybody, but if you'd seen this guy bowl, you'd get the feeling it was a common occurence.  Anybody who's been around and has half a clue can tell that Jesse stands head and shoulders above above a crowd of some good quality bowlers.  I'm not just saying he can destroy a house pattern with the best of them, he can do that, PLUS beat you on anything else you want to bowl on, and he definitely knows his stuff.  Congrats again Jesse!

any time you shoot an 800 series you have accomplished something in my mind. I would rather shoot an 800 series than a 300 any day and I dont have either.

Is this the same Jesse James that bowled for University of Kansas?  I could have sworn he shot an 800 at the 2002 Colgate tournament.  I know he set an average record for that tournament.  If not, great shooting still.  He's a really good lefty.

Yes, and I'm assuming that's the tourney he shot 788 at, the article mentions that his previous high was at a college tournament.  And he's actually righthanded . .

Memory blank....I dunno why I thought he was lefty.  Anyways, he averaged nearly 250 for 9 games that tournament.  That's amazing consistancy considering there was no 800 in there.
