What is the difference in the first generation and second generation Haus machines?

Thanks

Pretty much what raider said.  However, the first generation Haus machines did not have a timing mechanism which would for a second, delay one of the wheels so the ball would change direction.  You could buy a kit to make that happen on the first generation machines which we had.  The second generation machines had the timing mechanism already installed, as well as "protecting" the motors from "ball residue."  Easier to clean, less mess.

Hey cc,

I have the 1st generation and adding to what the guys have said, I noticed the drainage system being better.  On gen 1, the drainage went all into the black rubber bottom and then fed out thru a spout.  I saw on the (I guess Gen 2) that there were now small holes under the cutting/sanding wheels to where it drained thru tubes to a container of your choice.  It was definitely better and much cleaner compared to mine.

You can use a gen 1 machine with either drippan. It originally came with one drain on the side. The new style has the 3 bottom drains and can be ordered separately.

It is okay, but just okay.  The machine works better the cleaner it is.  As it gets dirty, doesn't work so well.  Cleaning it can be a time consuming job.  I had to take mine home and clean away from the shop, too many people coming through to clean it properly and not take all day.  I liked the diamond wheels with the Haus and feel they are the feature that makes the Haus stand out.

That being said, I liked my Cooke Sphere Machine better.  Almost no maintenance, and I should have got the diamond pads for this machine sooner than I did.  Overall, this machine was a beast, loved it.
