Pin Placement for Beginner
« on: March 19, 2008, 05:21:00 AM »
My buddy is getting his first reacting ball today (been using pancake core/ straight ball for years) and my question is, how should we drill it? It's a Hammer Blue Vibe, i was thinking pin next to ring? I want to make sure he sees the ball hooking, but i don't want it to be too much as this is his first "hooking" ball. Also, he throws only around 13.5 mph, does this change the strategy?

If this is his first fingertip-drilled ball, then there's no telling what his PAP will be, or even if his release is consistent enough to find a good PAP.  As addik said, a label type drill is pretty safe for most people.  If you find that he's got a really weird PAP or that the ball is not reacting as he wants, you can always plug and redrill it.
