Vise IT issue
« on: August 29, 2009, 01:58:22 PM »
I have Vise IT in my equipment and in my Perfect Rival when I put the slug in it the inner sleeve continues to turn with the thumb slug. It will lock but the slug will just keep turning after it locks. Anyone ever experience this? Do I need to worry about it breaking when I throw it? Can the inner sleeve be removed easily??

i had this happen once but it happened and i couldnt get the thumb out of the ball because it kept spinning either way i went with it. so pretty much the screw part of the slug got locked into the bottom and it wouldnt come out. i had to drill out the whole thing and replace it...nothing major. thats really the only problem i have had

I can actually get the slug out by pushing down while twisting.

I doubt it would take 50 games on a ball for this to happen if it was a bad install...

This is why I stopped using removable grips...

My recommendation would be to get a thumb mold made, and then get all of your equipment reslugged...  That's what I've done, and it solves the problem of different fits in different balls as well as not worrying about removable grip issues.

Oh, and I have had those break before, luckily in practice and not in a tournament, which is why I made the change...

I use them because I hate tape and when my thumb swells I can switch to a bigger slug. Not really to get the same feel in each ball. a
