« on: July 08, 2008, 10:53:52 PM »
Hello Everyone

I will be in florida for 2 weeks and I want to know where are the nice bowling centers and Proshops? Maybe I will purchase a ball and have it drilled up.I might do at least 2 or 3 days of practicing while I am there.I will be in the lakeland area of florida.

Thank you

Lakeland has an OK center If you go 30 minutes to the west in Brandon they have BCB. A little further by about 40 minutes is The Alley at Southgate which just opened 5-6 months ago. The Proshops at BCB and The Alley are both good, but I buy from Buck at the Alley. He is good people.
When you get into the area give me a call and we can throw a few games. I am always looking for an excuse to bowl.

I used to bowl Candlepin, but I have found Tenpin, and will Candlepin no more.

I think I did the Kegel regional (ProAm) at Orange Bowl there? I'm not 100% on the name of the center, but it has CATS I think. Nice center.

The Kegel Training Center is always worth a visit in Lake Wales.  I liked Boardwalk in Orlando.  There is one of the strangest AMF centers in Kissimmee.  It is off the highway and back in the woods.  Really hard to find.  It looks like a dump on the outside but is really nice inside.  The coolest bowling center we found in Florida is in the Keys.  If it is still there it's called Fish Bowl.
