really matter who we use today for ball equipment? I mean, does it really? I mean, isn't a ball a ball, we just have different companies with different ideas on how to get the job done on the lanes. Man, I don't know.
I guess the reason for this question and topic starter, is because after seeing what weird core Brunswick put out recently, the one with core surrounded by two rings, I'm thinking, "Dear God in Heaven! What the HELL is gonna' be next!" That's why I've been trying to mess with the smaller ball companies now. I have to buy all new equipment and it hurts my head to think about it.
Nevertheless, is one company trully better than any of the others? Now, please don't into all of the technical high/low RG-Mass Bias-high/low differential stuff, I'm just curious as to what people think about balls today. I honestly feel that I can throw anything, but I guess it all boils down to the Ford/Chevy syndrome.

When you've moved up, moved back, adjusted left and right, cupped, flattened out, have thrown everyting in your arsenal, and the pins still don't cooperate, just say, "Aw to HELL with it!", and throw the ball!

I dont' think it matters that much, as long as you find out what type of ball works best for you......for example **IN GENERAL**, mid rg, high flare, matte finish low load particles.....
then it's a matter of finding the exact cover/core combo for YOUR game......

We can argue all day about coverstock vs surface vs weight block vs layout. But it don't mean nuthin without the bowler.
A really good bowler can make a house ball with a conventional drilling look good.
A really bad bowler can make a (you fill in the blank with your favorite hook monster) look bad.
I know that there are some companies out there that would probably pay some bowlers to NOT throw their stuff.

Thanks so much people for the honest replies. It means a lot. I'll feel a lot better about the choices I make now. I realize that it'll be my skill that determines how I do on the lanes, but I'm also starting to realize to go with what you know or feel comfortable with too. Once again, thanks for the replies.

PS,
Shootout-
Which cores are you talking about from Brunswick.
Of the latest cores, Fuze Detonator, and variations of it are very popular.
Others Eliminator, REd Fuze and Ignitor. I love the move on synthetic!
Newer and funnier looking cores are the Inferno series.
Which set of funny or different looking cores are you having difficulty with?
