for the heavy handers on this site..
« on: October 09, 2009, 03:31:52 AM »
my rev rate is generally 480-500, and i find myself using older and or less aggressive equipment these days. overall, im wondering if others on here with plenty of hand are finding themselves doing this as well? in general im talking about leagues, but alot of tournaments these days are using kegel and pba patterns, and while i can get some use on tournament patterns with newer stuff, leagues are a different story. as hard as i try to use the latest and greatest i still find myself going back to an original eraser or a blue pulse in the majority of league. along those lines, would it be better to drill weaker equipment stronger, or should i be drilling the newer stuff weaker, say 5-5 1/2" pin to pap?

I don''t have quite as much rev''s as you do but I don''t consider myself to be anything less then a cranker. All I''ve used this winter season so far has been 1 or 2 ball''s. Storm T-Road Pearl Pin over bridge and CG in palm and a Brunswick BVP Rampage Pin up and right of ring and CG half inch from middle of palm. Anything else is too much for the lane''s this year. All of my other equipment is over a year old as well. I''ve seen many bowler''s during my leauge use equipment that''s 5+ year''s old. Some are so stuck on a certain ball that even though it''s completely trashed to the point the shell and inner core seperated they still use it to this day.
