In one of my leagues our team isn't very well liked. We are new to the league and our top bowler came in at the beginning of the league and was cleaning up jackpots and we finished 2nd first half. I know of the people who oil the lanes and they bowl in the league. And since the earlier weeks it is as though they oil the lanes on our pair to shut us out of jackpots.
I watch people on pairs next to us with zero hand dump the ball from 10 to 2 and there ball walks back to the pocket. While we have 4 people with a good amount of hand on our team, that can't get the ball back outside of 5 unless you are playing way outside (like 7 at the arrows). And still then the carry is very poor.
I actually didn't start bowling in the league until like the 6th week. And I noticed that for the first couple weeks it was bad one week then the next it would be like a normal house shot. But after 5 or 6 weeks it is bad almost every week. It honestly plays like the Viper but with more oil outside 5(not quite a reverse block but close). I wouldn't mind the challenge if I felt all lanes were the same, but I don't think they are.
I have considered going in early and bowling on pairs near ours before bowling to see how they play just to see as they allow you to bowl before the league. Part of the reason I feel it is happening too is when some of the better bowlers come on our pairs the struggle to some extent and complain how bad the lanes are that week. Sorry about the rant I just wish there was something we could do, it just doesn't seem fair to put jackpot money in if you are at a disadvantage.
