free storm clinic good advice
« on: September 23, 2004, 05:20:53 PM »
Well since I'm bored I'm going to tell you about recent things happening to my game. On wednesday I attended a free storm clinic saw the next x factor ace didn't look so special just another x factor there is so many of them now... Saw the new team storm spare ball I really like the way that one looks. Well Ralph from storm watched me bowl a little bit and suggested I un cup my wrist and explained to me that it really only puts strain on my wrist and that it is not necessary he said besides that he liked my release and said I get a good roll on the ball.

Next he moved me up on the approach about a foot and raised my ball up to about chin height and said that my feet are a little fast and that I need to free up my arm swing and we worked a little on that and without noticing it that game I shot 4 strikes in a row and taught me a cool little trick with my wrist to help me kill the ball a little better for spares instead of just making my wrist straight you can actually just break it backwards he suggested I get more coaching since I bowl so much that I slowly start going back to my old habits and end up practicing those without realizing it until my coach comes and tells me. He said that 300s and 800s are going to come and that I should be averaging in the 190s but if I want to get to a higher level I have to free up my arm swing and that bowling is like throwing a frisbee you don't use all your muscle to throw a frisbee it's just an easy motion but you get alot of revs same as bowling you don't have to use all your muscle the weight of the ball will give you the revs and the speed you need. So free games free coaching and got some things to work on time wisely spent.

And I found a really good live performance by Rob Halford listen to it it's great http://www.judas-priest.com/mp3/Halford-Rockline-POYE.mp3

Hey Intergalatic,

Was this Ralph Solan?  If it was, he's knows his stuff.  He was on Team USA in the early to mid 90's I think.  He usually stops by my place when he's in town, very nice guy and down to earth.
