Sometimes all you can do...
« on: August 25, 2009, 11:28:06 PM »
...is laugh.  I bowled the best 227 of my life last night.

First 4 strikes, all high flush.  Then I had the following 5th through 9th frames:
Stone 7
Stone 8
Stone 7 (I even threw it a touch faster to keep from coming up quite as high)
Strike (the 8 pin tried to stand but something slid it backwards and it slowly fell off the deck)
Stone 7 (I even moved left this frame...)

For the tenth, I moved left another board, struck, then just lost it off my hand for a very deserved flat 10.

Can't say I've ever seen a righty leave that many 7 pins in one game off high flush hits.  Oh well.  I carried all kinds of crap in another league in that house last week, this just makes up for it I guess.

That's the right attitude. You just have to laugh those things off. They happen. At least you know you threw a great game regardless of the score.

I would blame the pinsetter for the 7 pin being off spot.

That's possible.

I've seen rare occasions where an entire rack may be slightly offset too. I think I remember reports from Nationals about entire racks being offset on some pairs this year. Does anyone else remember reports like that?

First game 300, 2nd game front 8, pocket 7-10 miss, pocket 7-10 miss. Unfortunately let them two frames get to me and I think I went like buck sixty last game. Oh well life is not fair, why would bowling be any different.

It can happen to all of us.That one time we can have a good night by carrying light and flush hits and then go to a different house for league to have a bad night by not hitting side of a broad barn if it is were several feet away. What work in one by not work in a other. But the good thing about it that we can learn from it and it should not happen again by adjusting.
I hate ten pins but love the game of bowling with just the right ball to take them out.
