Where's The Best Place for a Bowler to Live?
« on: February 07, 2008, 07:35:00 AM »
Ignoring all factors such as climate, employment, availability of women or men for romance etc. etc. and considering ONLY your bowling life, where is the best place to live?

I would assume that ideal locations would have 4 to 6 decent bowling centers within a half- hour driving distance, lots of folks interested in bowling, so one does not have to beg people to join leagues, enough decent bowlers so there would be some viable scratch leagues and that the bowling centers would be managed by bowlers and willing to put out decent shots.

Have I left anything out?

Are there such places?

Where are they?

Thats funny. My buddy who had been bowling his whole life, averaged 220+, suddenly quit bowling to take up Curling. No joke. He curls like 3-4 nites a week. just like he used to bowl. Never done the sport and we now hardly talk b/c he's with his Curling Bro's now. LMAO

Maybe he wanted to play a sport that actually gives you a chance to participate in the Olympics.

I would have to say San Antonio. Just about all the centers are 30 to 45 minutes away from each other and there is a tournament some where in town every weekend. Bowling is alive and well there.

I would have to say we do not have it bad here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I counted 10 centers just in Fort Worth and the Mid-Cities area, and I am sure Dallas and It's burb's are probably even more all within 45 minutes from me!

Michigan, most registered bowlers.

The only problem, people don't wanna be humbled by low scores.
I should read the last post... hahahaha! MI is where its at, there are quite a few BIG money leagues in the Detroit area.

AllWalledUP, welcome to the Dallas area. There must be something about being a bowler in this area. Think about the pro's that have relocated or live here. I run two tournaments in the Dallas area, come on out and bowl with us. The area has some decent amatuer tournament tours, strong travel leagues and some decent money in regular leagues as well.
