Greetings fellow bowlers. After about a month of testing out my first urethane ball (Black Hammer), drilled for minimal to no flare, I've come to realize that I throw it as a full roller. The ball tracks almost dead center between the finger tips and runs almost completely around the entire circumference of the ball.
I'm a two handed, no thumb, player now for the past 4 months, but never really thought myself a full roller because my other pieces flare away from the finger tips and create a traditional 2"-4" bowtie track.
Anyways, I have two questions. First, and least importantly, is it worth trying to change something about my release to avoid this? It's clearly tracking over my fingertips.
Second, and more interestingly, I notice that my rev rate for my black hammer seems awfully low compared to what you would think a two hander would produce. However, I am pretty much able to swing the ENTIRE lane, with urethane, on a house shot. Anyways, are full rollers able to create substantially more hook than what their rev rate indicates should be possible?
I miss right, and the ball still comes screaming back, hard with carry; something I don't associate with a lackluster rev rate or urethane. Basically, are full rollers with, let's say 300rpms, comparable to other players with substantially higher rev rates? (ball speed at the pins is around 14mph)
