Fun post! Which would you choose?
« on: December 02, 2008, 07:55:12 AM »
Which would you choose?

1. You get any bowling ball and a case of abralon pads (all the grits 360 to 4000).

2. You get two bowling balls of your choice but are not allowed to alter the coverstock on either ball.

If your bowling in a tourney which scenerio would you go with?  If your bowling in a league which would you go with?

This post is just for fun.  I'm curious which is the more popular choice.

My choice is #1 because I would much rather be able to adjust the coverstock on a bowling ball to fit the pattern.  Their are some really good versatile bowling balls on the market today that can be used on almost any condition with the correct cover grit!

I would take choice number 2.The reason why is that I can have one dull and other one shiny. And also pin placement on both.
I hate ten pins but love the game of bowling with just the right ball to take them out.

i would take choice number two.  id take two of the exact same balls, with two layouts.  id decide on surface depending on what kind of condition i would be facing

Number 2.

Different weight blocks can do some serious damage...just take one low grit coverstock with layout one and a high grit with layout two.*

*note: layout 1 and layout 2 are just examples, not real layouts.

#1 could work well for league, but I'd take my chances with #2.  No matter how perfect you get a ball's surface, the lanes will change, especially for a tournament shot.  Give me two options over one any day.  Of course, if you mean constantly altering the one ball with the pads as the lanes change, it's a different question, but since you mentioned leagues or tournaments, I'd assume you meant no changing of the surface once scoring starts per USBC rules.

#2 for sure I love my gravity shift OOB and I could pair it with my xxxl and be good to go. I have yet to find a pattern these 2 dont roll well for me.
