Funny Question
« on: August 23, 2008, 08:30:13 PM »
Due to a problem with my fingers, I dropped down in weight from a 15lb to a 14lb, but sometimes I still get the numbness in my fingers. Then, last week, I threw someones 16lb ball and had no pain at all! No one seems to know why this should be the case, as the span and pitches are the same. Someone suggested it may be something to do with having a free armswing with the 16 and not muscling. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be, and do we think I should go back up to 16lb?

Probably free armswing and a relaxed hand. You cant death grip the 16 like you may try to with a lighter weight. If you pick up a 10 lb dumbell and roll your hand and wrist---its easy. If you pick up a 30 lb dumbell and did the same thing, it wouldnt be as easy---therefore putting less strain on your wrist and fingers. Same idea, only exaggerated between bowling ball weights.

Difference in span and pitch, making for a more relaxed grip?

Except that the span and pitches are the same!
