Generally speaking... Thumb pitch.

I have 3 balls I plugged and want to experiment with.  Right now my thumb pitch is at zero.  Generally speaking, what can I expect from changing my thumb pitches to the following:

Ball 1 - 1/4 towards grip center (fwd?)
Ball 2 - 1/4 right of grip center
Ball 3 - 1/4 left of grip center

And just for reference (and in case I want to plug another ball) 1/4 away from grip center (reverse?)

Is 1/4 a bit too extreme a change?

0.25" is IMHO already a lot. I changed my pitch by 0.125" reverse, and this was a recognizable change for me, helping me get my thumb out of the ball much easier. I have all my equipment re-drilled now with the new setup, and also added some tape for a more snug feeling.

It is a big change and if youre anything like me you will have a lot of trouble switching between them.

I experimented after having a ball drilled in the USA with 3/4 of an inch reverse. I found I had more revs but occasionally lost the ball at the bottom of the swing with this one.I then went from 1/16 to 3/16 with 2 of my balls at home and the 1/16 balls in my arsenal simply wouldnt come off my hand when I switched to them in matches. It tore a lump off the side of my thumb.
So be careful or you could very easily rip your thumb when switching between the 3 different pitches in practice.

I ended up having them all done at 1/8th of inch and it proved to be an expensive experiment. I will say than in time I found how to slightly change my release position to compensate for the different pitches but I still advise you to be careful.

So 1/4 is a bit extreme.  

I will try 1/8th then.  I am looking to get out of the ball earlier so I will try 1/8th reverse and maybe 1/8 reverse and right on another.  

Mind you this is all old equipment I have and I do get a discount at the pro shop I frequent so it's not too much money spent on this experiment.

Just an idea: If you want to mess around with pitches, maybe just redrill one ball with a switch grip and have several interchangeable thumb inserts drilled to try the different pitches? Might be less expansive than "sacrificing" several balls at one, which will probably have to be re-plugged/drilled once you come to a solution?

Haven't thought about the switch grip.  I have a new ball coming in.  Perhaps I can get the switch grip on that one and save my plugged equipment for a one-time next drilling.

You can have switch grips with different pitches plugging into one hole?  That would be a handy way to test it.
