When I first used it, it did not SEEM to work as well as many of the others I had tried. (FYI Purple stuff never worked for me at all; water was as good.)
I was more worried about the potential health risks, based on the way Maxx smelled.

Then a source that I trusted told me it was basically the same as LMB International's Extreme Bowling Ball cleaner. That one I know worked as good as Clean n Dull. I have been using it for years and I trusted it. Although I have a stock of it, it is n longer in production.

I will give Maxx another try as soon as I return to bowling (on the injured reserve right now).

Right now, I find Clean 'n Dull is a better cleaner than Maxx and That Purple Stuff. I bought Mt second bottle of TPS in August and for some reason it does not clean as well like it did when I bought my first bottle back in January. Not sure if CTD made a change to the chemicals in the cleaner recently, but it doesn't seem to get the dirt and oil off the ball quite as good this time around.

Clean 'n Dull, Hook-It (and DV8's Damn Good Hook is the same as Hook-It) and LMB cleaner are the 3 best deep bowling-ball specific cleaners available. Period (in my opinion).

The LMB ball cleaners may be out of production, but Buddie's still has all three, including the LMB Extreme High Performance (blue) cleaner for sale currently on their web site.  For information only.

So I bought a bottle of the Evolution Maxx ball cleaner that Genesis makes at a state bowling tournament in March and I noticed thatit has an annoying smell that resembles nail polish remover. I wasn't really impressed by the cleaner because I tried other spray cleaners in the past like Black Magic Rejuvenator and That Purple Stuff that worked much, much better. Anyone else experience this? I want to give Genesis another chance with the Intense but I just don't know if I should.

I also bought a bottle of Evolution Maxx and have used it twice. Both times, the cleaner evaporated about 30 seconds after application. For good reason, the bottle advises you to use Maxx in a "well ventilated area." The stuff reeks! The bottle also tells you to wash your hands after you use Maxx---something that I have not seen on any other cleaner. I will stick with Clean n Dull which is a better cleaner without the downsides of Maxx.

Too many ball cleaners on the market, just wish there was a strong yet scentless cleaner that won't appear to give you cancer from long term exposure! lol

Everyone thinks theirs is best and everyone thinks they can make a better one.

For a strong but non-toxic cleaner, I'm afraid you'll have to move to an alternate universe to find that one.
