What to fit BETWEEN an Absolute and Doom?
« on: February 21, 2007, 06:30:32 AM »
I have a Doom that I've loved since I got it, and recently picked up an Absolute that I'm having great success with as well.  Can you recommend something to fit between these two?  Something lengthier than the Absolute, but still stronger than the Doom?  Perhaps something in a particle pearl to sort of fill two holes in the arsenal?  I have a few balls in the closet, a Mean Machine, Pain, Black Widow and a Vendetta Particle Pearl.  Thoughts?  My stats are in my profile.  Speed dominant, lowish revs, I prefer to play the Track area, and ANY company is open to me.  I've had my eye on the VENUS for awhile, as well as the 44 MAG.

Mr. Lebowski, this is Bill Salnicker with the Southern Cal Bowling League, and I just got a, an informal report, that a member of your team, uh, Walter Sobchak, drew a firearm during league play. If this is true of course, it contravenes a number of the league's by-laws, and article 27 of the league...

A cold Bud or Miller lite would fit in between these two really well.   Get a life man,   a little bit of scotch brite and talent and you can throw one of them away.

Cool, thanks!

They're really that close?  I honestly didn't look at any of the numbers, I always thought the Absolute was supposed to be a medium heavy type ball and the Doom for lighter stuff.  Shows what I know!  Not much!

Although they are close the look that they have on the lane is quite a bit different. I don't know as though anything fits between them really. I usually am able to get a read between the two to decide which is the better to use.

Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't... you're probably right.

Now that I think about it, they are closer than I realized.  A very different reaction shape, and I think that's what was throwing me off.  The Absolute seems to have a heavy roll, while the Doom wants to skid and save it all for the breakpoint.  I could probably put the Pain above the Absolute, and carry those three.  Then perhaps think of something for under the Doom in the future, as it is really too much ball for light oil, at least for me.
