Getting Bowling Back
« on: August 16, 2015, 03:50:10 PM »
I just watched a Show on Golf. They were talking about expensive it is. I saw another post on here talking about how people complain about paying $20 a season for Sanction Golf is a lot more expensive. Yes Bowling has declined. But there are people like Me that love Bowling and do whatever I can to get people involved. Having the PWBA back is great. Yes Pros need more Sponsorship. People have to realize that $15.00 of Sanction goes to Your Local Assn. And in My opinion they don't earn the $15. Bowling is a great Sport. We need to get more people on the Lanes. So get out and help promote Bowling. Go to a Pro Am, Leagues start soon. So let's have a great Year. Don't worry about the awards. USBC is trying. Have a good season.

Maybe if you went to your local association meetings and learned more about what they do you'd understand how important that $15 is to your bowling locally.

The local Association does more for or against Bowling along with the proprietors then the larger USBC will ever do in most cases.

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

I'm being literal when I say find out who is on your local Association board and go to the general meeting and learn more about what they are doing in your area.

They are responsible for certifying the lanes,  planning your local tournaments,  awards,  etc. Get involved with them. They need the help/volunteers.

I believe the local association is currently limited to $10 a year. But the comments are the same.

Last year I got my first new ball in about 12 years, new shoes, bags, towels.  Even though I didn't bowl a whole lot better over the previous year, this season I am getting another new ball and I am really excited about the upcoming league season.

I am practicing twice a week, which I have never done and I even started watching any bowling I can find on TV.  I used to watch the PBA every week, haven't done that for years and years either.

League season can't come soon enough for me!

Love the enthusiasm here.

+1; we can use it. I am getting my equipment ready for the fall leagues---new inserts, resurfacing my primary ball, etc. I am very much looking forward to the coming season.

CBB - If we could find a way to take some of your bowling attitude and DNA and inject it into the general bowling population, it would be wonderful.

Thank you for being a breath of fresh air and good luck this season.

Well Thank You. I love the Sport. Bowled 21 straight years including Summer Leagues. Bowled in Tournaments, etc. Love that the PWBA is back.
