Hello
In regards to a universal chuck I had looked at doing this for several years
until we finally engineered a solution to allow the use of a SS bit. Have
been using it for 6-7 years and recently Vise starting using it for their
IT system for Gil macs. If you see or have this kit for the Vise then
you have seen something our shop has engineered and created. Clearance is
a big issue with it though as there is limited space in the cavity where the
ball rests and is drilled. In limited applications (IT and small drill bits)
where the bits arent used often it works great, but if you were to try and
use it as a replacement for Gil Mac bits then I would advise against it as
the time involved taking the bits in and out of the unit, plus the clearance
issue really makes it impractical for constant use.
Thanks
Joe
