Title: girp pressure
Post by: chun914 on May 02, 2004, 12:09:44 PM
Which insert tape on the market now provide the most texture ?
cork insert ??  super textured ???

and

My thumb and finger hole used only a little bevel to keep a relaxed grip pressure.
But usually can't hold the ball will only a little pressure.
Ball started to fall during the swing.

is that a span/pitches problem ?

Right now i'm using master's super  textured tape
And always use rosin and blow some air into the thumb hole.

Most likely you have too much reverse pitch in the thumb hole. Most of the bowlers I coach now have forward pitch in their thumb holes. I myself am using 1/2 inch forward. Also make sure you are not allowing your wrist to bend back at the bottom of the swing. This transfers too much weight to the thumb and away from the fingers.

I use  3/16 forward pitch on my thumb.
0 forward/reverse on both fingers.
actual span 4 1/16 on both

In the thumb hole, a super texture on the front and magic carpet on the back( thanks Ron for the amazing product)

will try to add more forward on the thumb..
should i change it to 1/4 forward or more ?
