Help with a Ball Selection
« on: September 20, 2011, 11:53:13 PM »
I'm in the process of emptying out my arsenal, which had a ton of overlap and ball I didn't particularly care for.  I'm in the market for 2 new balls after I sell off a few more of my old ones.  I have a good amount of revs but great speed (20 MPH), causing me to be speed dominant.  I have medium axis rotation and slightly low axis tilt.  I generally do best with flippy balls, as I need the quick response to friction with my ball speed.  I also can normally use balls on lighter conditions than they were intended for due to my ball speed.

Arsenal:

League:
Fresh/Heavier: Critical Theory (almost certain, but not purchased yet and open to suggestions)
Lighter Fresh/Second shift starter/early breakdown: Lane 1 Cobalt Bomb (my favorite ball on a variety of conditions)
Late games/end of second shift: ________ (here is where I need the help, I'm looking at the 503c and Bandit but open to other suggestions)
Bone Dry/Super short oil: dead Momentum Swing with control drill  (sounds odd, but it works beautifully in this spot)

Add-ons for tournaments:
Super Strong Solid: Alpha Max with double thumb drill
Sanded Pearl with control drill: Time Bomb (used when the backends are flying a bit too much for a snappy ball)

As you can see, I'm looking for a medium-med/light ball.  With my speed, these balls work on lighter conditions quite easily.  I need something that grabs quickly but isn't TOO jumpy, since it will be used for broken down lanes.  503c seems to fit this description well.  Bandit does too (and would come with a free 2 ball tote with the CT), though I have concerns that it might be a tad too strong.  Maybe a Motiv QZ2 Backdraft? Other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
