Goal Met on Sweepers Night
« on: April 26, 2004, 08:01:43 PM »
Last night was sweeps for my scratch league.  I brought additional equipment since the 6PM league swept last week and would not start up again until next week.  This not being my home center, I was uncertain what kind of oil would be out there.

I started with the usual PDW and it seemed to like the condition.  Game 1 starts with a double and an open in the 3rd, a 4-7 I got sloppy on.  I did keep it clean the rest of the game and shot 231.  Not a bad start to sweepers.

Game 2 clean, spare, 6 in a row and a mix of marks for a 247.  Sweeps is looking even nicer, not to mention that elusive 700 is a good possibility.

Game 3 starts with a turkey, spare and a mix of marks.  It gets to the 9th and I know a strike will make the 700 really attainable.  I got the strike.  10th a strike all but guarantees the 700.  I was actually calm going up and got the strike.  Now all I have to do is keep the ball on the lane.  I get a 9 count spare for a 714.  My 1st ever 700.

It only took me 26 years, but I finally got it.  Oh and I had the highest series in the league for sweeps.  I think the nearest male was a 650 something. I am still on cloud 9.  My teammate said it couldn't have been better timing.  Sweeps or a tourney is the best time to hit a new milestone.

I just wanted to share.  Some of you on this board have helped me make the improvements, especially janderson.  Thanks for the tips on the mental game, I believed and it happened.

Congrats on the 700 and I think that officially gets you out of the BOTBC.

Hard work pays off and in your case it has with the sweeper fund.

TP - Outstanding Timing was perfect -- you couldn't ask for a better way to end a season.

Congratulations on some real fine shooting.

Thank you one and all.

Rick that is just what one of the guys said last night.  Who knows, maybe some day

It is cool that here we appreciate eachothers accomplishments and success stories.

Pin-Chaser, thanks I have worked on being the best bowler I can be.

Doc, I think this was a fitting way to jump out of the barrel

Thank you all again

Hold on a minute!!!  Apparently you guys forgot this was a [deleted] lefty.

Nothing special, equates to about a 600 for a normal bowler.

Good shooting Colleen, told you you could do it, save some for the Hoinke though.  Need someone to pick on in brackets.

Sr, I am sure you will kick me out of 1st again this year.   I sure hope to have some left for Hoinke.  I told my coach I'd hit the 700 before the end of December 2004.  He told me I'd do it, and it wouldn't be a 700.  He predicted more like a 720.  He was close, only 6 more pins.

Sheepy, I am still in a state of semi disbelief.  Something I've wanted a long time!  An 800 would be something.  Probably not in the near future, but maybe someday.  Hmmmm State tournaments and Hoinke coming up this summer....sure would be nice  Yes, I am a dreamer.

Sure is some good bowling, Thong Princess.
I think a promotion to Thong Queen would
be in keeping with  reaching your goal of
  700 .

Great bowling TP: may that be the start of numerous 700 series and above for the rest of the year and into the fall/winter season upcoming. 800 I'm sure will be down the line for you as well. That's my biggest goal outside of hitting an elusive 300 that hasn't happened in 29 years of bowling.
