Well, I’m here in Vegas. I ended up bringing:


1. Track Red Paradox—-OOB with polish
2. Roto Hyper Cell Fused—Box finish
3. Roto UC3–Box finish with just a touch of shine
4. Brunswick Black Quantum—Not sure, but it’s always been shiny and I never changed it.

 Anything else and I’ll just have to drop some $.

 Wish me luck. We have practice and the Bowlers Journal later today.

Practice session went well, and I found a decent line playing tight around the third arrow with the black quantum.

Not much miss room (especially out), but ball would hold line decently with enough pop to carry.

 Bowlers journal was NOT good for me. Not sure exactly what the pattern was, but it seemed short and hooky for me. Didn’t shoot well at all, but did see some who did, and they were shimming it up from out, playing around 5-7 at the arrows. One guy shot a good 700 something playing there, and two young ladies had exceptional sets playing the same area.

 I’m just old now, and not able to repeat shots like I used to, but if you can, there are scores out here to be had.

 Got doubles/singles tomorrow. Wish I had something not quite so aggressive, as everything I have was reading the pattern earlier than I wanted.

Over 7. Same guys will come back and claim how “tight” they were. No, your ball was exhausted at 25 feet and had nothing left down lane.

You might just win with that number. I've already seen several in my Challenge league and we are currently on a 37 ft pattern with moderate oil. Of course the scoring pace was seriously dropping toward the end of the first game and got worse as the night went on.

A few years ago I had a new bowler go to the Open with my group and he had a 6 ball roller. Dude had six different brands of balls and all six of them were the newest, biggest hook monster that each brand offered. Of course, he shot a very low 400 for each of the three sets.

Afterwards, he was asking for advice and when I said, 'Maybe have 6 different balls instead of six of the same ball', he just wanted to argue that they WERE different.

 I could not explain to him(in a way he was willing to listen to) that the label on the ball didn't make it different.
