Going to use 14lb ball for awhile
« on: September 10, 2013, 10:39:42 PM »
Been having all sorts of aches and pains (no cartilage in my hips, one year removed from knee surgery, and a bout of Plantar Faciitis to boot), and still not sure if I'll be able to bowl without too much pain, but going to try with a 14 lb ball.

Normally use 16 and 15 lbs, but after my first league night a few days ago, was getting very fatigued after a game or two.  Not stamina wise. But my legs were killing me.

Scheduled to revisit an orthopoedic specialist in another week, but in the meantime am going to use the only 14 lb ball I have. Feel like I'm sandbagging and at a disadvantage all at the same time.

I know it's not sandbagging if you're not doing it in order to get a high handicap, but that is what will probably happen.  Plus the ball is an old Columbia Messenger. It seems to have virtually no friction, despite still being (I THINK) a reactive ball.

Anyway...  this is just sort of a confession.  Hopefully the bowling will help strengthen the muscles ---if I get ito it slowly--- and then I can go back to at least one of my 15's.
