Bowling Centers in Louisville, KY
« on: March 03, 2010, 02:50:33 AM »
Hey guys,  I've been having to travel to Louisville for the past month, missing league nights at home, I am downtown, and sans the rental car, everything I do is within a shuttle ride or walk.  I brought my bowling balls with me this week and looking for the lanes to go to that aren't too far away.  I noticed that Executive (strikes and spares) is not too far way back at the airport.  Do they have any oil on them?  I just got my C-system 3.5, the house shot I bowl on is probably more medium..  I'd like to see what it can do in oil.  Is there a house around that would have a longer oil pattern?  Just checking, figured I'm stuck here can't let the skills get rusty, heck may sub for a league or something.  Help a brother out...

I bowl at Executive on Saturday nights, and we get the leftovers from another league.  Some nights you get a good pair and some nights you get a terrible pair.  Not much in-between in that league!  Carry can be iffy there, and again, some pairs are worse than others.  The shot definately does blow up pretty badly after awhile there simply because they're wood lanes, but it doesn't get too awfully bad.  Executive is notorious around here for leaving the 10 pin, but that's mostly a matchup issue.  Because of the way their house shot plays, people usually either have too much tilt and hit weak, or they use strong stuff and fight rollout issues and hit flat because of that.

If you want a higher volume/longer shot on synthetics, Kingpin Lanes is a good option.  The center is only a few years old, so carry is phenomenal there usually.  The house shot is pretty easy when it's fresh, but there's a fair bit of oil and I can use stronger equipment on it usually.  Also, since I'm going to Reno next week, I asked if they could put down something resembling the USBC Open oil pattern so I could get a little practice on a flatter shot, and they obliged and are putting the shot down on a couple lanes tonight, if you can make it out there tonight by any chance.

GetOffMe10Pin -- You're from the Louisville area too I take it?  Nice.
