golfers elbow - KT Tape
« on: October 05, 2017, 04:29:00 PM »
I currently have golfer's elbow, pain in the medial aspect of the elbow.

I've used the forearm band, but I can't get used to the device in my arm as I swing. Plus, my forearm is too big for this elbow strap. 15" plus.

I'm using my elbow compression sleeve right now, with so so results.

I've had this injury before from throwing drills and grabbing the lapel/gi of my classmates years ago. But this time it's taking forever to go away. (maybe not stretching enough/corretly - re injured it during weight lifting.)

Anyway, my question is.....

has anyone used KT tape or alike with good results for injuries like mine or other injuries? I don't think its been medically proven to work. I think it's a "magic pill".. Before this tape blew up in American TV and Olympics, I"ve seen this worn by martial artist in japan decades ago, but we never used it.

For me, the KT tape didn't work.  I used the forearm band and drilled up some 15 lb balls.  It took about 4 months to become completely pain free again.

Okay tennis elbow. yeah forget the tape.

Get one of the Master elbow support straps and wear it religiously.  Like sportcoupe said should clear up, then keep on  wearing it as a preventative.

I wear one all the time.

if you can't find one big enough you should be able to take two and chain them together to make it longer

Ruh roh Shaggy, people gonna be pissed...  :o

A placebo is anything that seems to be a "real" medical treatment -- but isn't. It could be a pill, a shot, or some other type of "fake" treatment. What all placebos have in common is that they do not contain an active substance meant to affect health.

Not that I am claiming this has anything to do with the current topic... ;D

You work in the medical field and you're asking on a bowling message board if some over priced tape on your arm is going to help.

The placebo force is strong with that one.  ;D

hahaha this crossed my mind as I posted, but I'm just being curious. From a obaasan (grandmother) using tape on her lower back while gardening to these thousands of athletes with or without sponsorship. (First time I saw this type of tape was in the late 80's. back then it seemed that every "magic pill" worked I guess.. like the thigh master hahaha)

If I was in PT dept. (physical therapy) and asked this question, I should turn in my license and flip burgers. I just see bones....

Post on the internet and getting laughed at instead of walking down the hall and giving them ammunition to laugh at you every day.
