Bowling & Golfing Awards
« on: April 04, 2014, 07:28:38 AM »
I'm not a golfer, but trying to help local bowling association with awards for next season. What does golfing memberships offer for a awards score? (If there is such a thing) And what is the membership cost?
Any one working on this also or anyone with input for awards I would be grateful for your input.

No award scores in golf.  Associations will have awards based on performance, but not for a set score that I have ever heard of.

You could give out magnets and keychains for people shooting under 100.

Honestly I don't have a clue.  There's no template, you'd have to make something up.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

I just got to ask. Since your "Not a Golfer" and this is not a "Golf" forum, why ask about how you do Golf awards?
(unless the local assoc. is running something like a golf scramble)

It would seem checking in a "Golf" forum give better info on how they give out awards.

Your trying to help set up the awards for a "Bowling" assoc. while there is a tenuous connection between Bowling and Golf, the award/prize systems are not quite the same.

Try a google search for local bowling association's and take a look at their award structures for ideas.

example search result:

the hole in one. is the only achievement awarded to any golfer even non average carrying members.  The awards received are based on what ball and club the ace was made.  titleist and callaway are the two I dealt with that give a wall plaque sleeve of balls or a personalized hole in one bag tag.

I was trying to see what other organizations give as awards or what some of you guys or girls might suggest as awards next year. Since it's the local associations that are now responsible for them. On a very limited budget I might add.
Reading posts on here there were many posts at what was not wanted, (magnets, key chains) but no suggestions of what would be.
I'm leaning to suggesting, one award life time for whatever we decide is going to be the format. 100 pins over average for example, one and done.
Really interested what other associations are leaning too.
Do the top level bowlers want awards? I'd think the elite on here have all that's available and your 300 and 800's would be recognized @ the HOF in Home Town Hero's.

You're in a no win situation.  People are going to bitch if they don't get anything, but whatever they do get won't be appreciated, so good luck.
