Ball Track Question
« on: November 19, 2010, 12:18:43 AM »
All,
Just looking for suggestions to slightly lower my ball track. The first flare ring is hitting the thumb hole.

I shortened my span from 4 3/8 by 4 5/16  to 4 1/8 by 4 a couple of months ago.  My thumb pitch stayed the same 1/ 8 reverse. I did make significant changes on both my finger pitches. I went from 1/8 reverse on to 1/4 forward. I’m thinking either the forward pitch is causing too much grab at the bottom, or my thumb isn’t clearing the ball soon enough.

Thanks for your time…..

TDK...

I will help get your post started so we can get a discussion going for you. You made a pretty big change with the shorter span and going to forward pitches on the fingers. My first question is why did you or your driller make changes? Many bowlers seem to be going to zero or 1/4 away if they use lifts. I am not implying that this is the trend with everybody. Some just feel that they don't need extra lift or revs. I peeked at your rev rate and speed before I made my  statement. The most important thing is to get your ball comfortable to you. And that means fit like a glove. I will add that some bowlers have success by adding lateral thumb pitch to the palm, which will promote you to come around the ball more. You could use different hand releases and move your track down some. Some people do it well and some struggle with it.
