Arthritic hand
« on: October 10, 2006, 01:32:27 AM »
I had a bone broken in my right hand long ago. Never really bothered me much thru the years but in the last few years I can feel arthritis building up in it.

The morning after bowling now my hand is stiff and pops. It is just getting worse and worse. Some days I can hardly make a fist.

Those 800 mg doses of ibuprofen aren’t getting it done any more.

While bowling causes the pain and stiffness it has really affected my bowling.

But dang it, it bothers my golf game.

Sawbones you got it.

It may even be helping my bowling because I want to hit up less on the ball.

But in golf my hand feels puffy on the club and makes it more difficult to grip the club. I notice it the most on my chipping. I’ve always been strongly right handed in my short game.

Pinbuster -- My father in law has arthritis in his hands.  I got him a Steelfingers (see link below), and he says it really helps reduce the pain, especially on those first few balls.  --  JohnP

I turned 50 two weeks ago, and the snap, crackle, pop started in my right hand about 2 months before that. :-(
It's painful, but not unbearable - yet...
I'm trying to stay on top of it, but I'm sure it'll catch up with me - hopefully later rather than sooner.

Good luck!
