I've NEVER heard of this before...

In another thread about "Lucky Strike Lanes", one of the people posting on the thread said

the management said i cant use my own equipment

I've NEVER heard of such a thing!
I guess the Lucky Strike lanes is a party house - but why would they care if you brought your own stuff?

Maybe their machines chew up and spit out non-house equipment (i.e. non-polyester balls) and are tired of people demanding that the house pay for replacing damaged equipment.

I know of several centers that have signs up saying, "Use your own equipment at your own risk."  I've never heard of an outright ban on using your own stuff.

Do those signs really release them from their machines ruining your equipment? It is their negligence.

I tried calling their corp offices and got the old vm shuffle. No humans avaiable, so I shot them an email.

I'll post when I get an answer..

In the meanwhile, I'll be at the Rio in LV this weekend and drop in to see what their answer is..

From their HR department:

Hello,

Yes, you are allowed to bring your own equipment however, you may have to sign a waiver that Lucky Strike is not responsible for any damage that may occur.  For more specific information, it’s best to contact the venue where you’d like to bowl.  Where were you thinking of going?

Thank you,

Now do you need a bigger sledge hammer to knock you on the side of the head?  This house is not for bowlers.  Its for sheer recreation, not competition, not league, not sport.  By the way, did you ask them if they own an oiling machine?   I went into one of our city's new "entertainment" centers and asked that question when I saw the sign at the front desk about "use your own equipment at your own risk".  The response I got was a simple NO.  They do not own an oiling machine.  Maybe this place does.  But what other signs do you need to stay clear of this type of place if you are a bowler?
