Good Online Pro Shops?
«
on:
July 14, 2003, 07:00:59 PM »
You know, I keep hearing about all these online pro shops that are more scams than anything. But, I have never really read a post where we listed the good and honest online pro shops out there. I used to have good transactions with Best Bowling, but have heard recently that even they are joining those sites where they take your money without delivering a product. If there are any sites where you have never had a problem and are known to be honest, legit, online pro shops, can we please devise a list of those for our members?

Thanks for all the listings. Sounds like Doug is the guy to go to. Can you also look at my post about overseas releases? Thanks again!

Shops I have dealt with with absolutely no problems.
www.buddiesproshop.com
www.bowlersparadise.com
(3 perfect transactions)
www.bowlingballmall.com
Of course my first online proshop adventure was with
www.bestbowling.com
and it took them 2 months to get an Optyx Formula 1 to me -------- at least I finally got it.

There is also
www.bauerproshop.com
they have specials, and give a competetive price with great service.
If you're a Lane 1 fan there's
www.cartersproshop.com
He has some of the most competetive prices for NIB Buzzsaws

If you are looking for Buzzsaws , give me a holler.
I have a bunch of used, all the current line of new in stock.
I also have a bunch of rare Lane #1 gems NIB.
I still have some Vipers, and Blueberry's, left, NIB for sale as well.

I have always gotten wonderful service from Doug Sterner, and he has all the current saws..
I do know that Drillwizard has a wonderful reputation aswell, and has a lot of rare saws in stock.
Good luck

Of course I am my own favorite online shop :-)
www.dougsproshop.net
Yesa my site is a bit behind but I have been teaching summer school this year so my normal massive update time has been taken up so my wife didn't have to get a summer job. Anyhow, look for updates in the very near future.
I have had dealins with buddiesproshop.com and drillwizard that have gone flawlessly.
There are a lot of the bigger sites that have inventories of old stock or overseas balls that are tough to find. Rumor has it that bowlingball.com on ebay is actually LoMar Bowling Supply in Russell, KS that is operating out of FL with their closeout and blemished merchandise that they used to sell to the pro shops for a nice discount.
Give me a shot and I will be more than happy to hook you up with whatever you need!!!

I was going to add
www.bowlersdiscountsales.com
and
www.bowlersparadise.com
to the "good" list, but I got beaten to the punch. Another one that I've had good success with is
www.bowlerschoice.com
.
As you can start to see, there are some very good reputable online Pro Shops out there to choose from. But, stay the heck away from Beach Bowl Pro Shop, Best Bowling Pro Shop, All American Pro Shop, BowlingXXX, Deep South Bowling Supply, and there are a couple of others mentioned in the "Online Pro Shop" forum that are definitely worth avoiding. For example, I can tell you that it has been verified that Best Bowling Pro Shop has a fictitious address.....they are NOT located on Taylor St. in Little Rock, or anywhere in Arkansas for that matter, although their business address is listed in Little Rock. Spend a little bit of time going over the posts over on the Online Pro Shop Forum here, and you will get a better idea of who to trust and who to avoid, as well as some of the good recommendations already posted here in this thread.
