A friend just text me a picture of an LT-48 (older one) he found at the local goodwill. It looks like it's in great shape from the picture he sent. I remember finding a copper Rhino ball at a goodwill, but it was 16lbs.

I volunteer at St Vincent dePaul thrift store. Occasionally get bowling balls in. Unfortunately most of them are 12# plastic. Last 3 years I think i've found 4 good balls. An 15# Angle, 14 x-factor, a purple rhino (prob mid 80s) and Lane1 cherry pearl.

wow those are nice finds. X-factor was a great ball, too bad it, and my depth charge cracked sitting in my closet.

Best one I have found so far is a yellow dot legend which cost me 50 cents and occasionally gets used

Craigslist is good to browse once in a while too. Last year I found a lady who was selling a mint 15lb Ebonite V2 that her son had bought and used maybe 20 games for rec bowling in college. She sold it to me, with a bag, for $20. I traded it for a NIB 15lb Lucid that has earned me a lot of money.
I also love checking out the balls on the house racks when I bowl tournaments. I've never taken a ball from there, but it's neat to see what's lying around. The last center I was at had a ton of prominent balls. There was a single drill OG Black Widow, a Track 920T, an Ebonite Cyclone, and a Lane 1 Super Carbide Bomb. All of them were in very nice condition too.
