ABC Sanctioned League Screwed up...
« on: September 12, 2004, 10:21:59 AM »
Last year I finished my league with a 189 avg. and this year I rejoined the league to find out ABC has my avg. listed at a 123.  How could they make a mistake like that?  Also, besides that screw up effecting the handicap can it screw up anything else if not fixed?  (The head of the league is looking into this and it will be fixed).

If you enter any ABC sanctioned tournaments, make sure they use the correct average.  You might want to carry an April 15th league sheet with you to tournaments until things get straightened out.

How it happened?  There could be another bowler with the same name, the secretary was off a line when submitting book average form and your local association didn't verify against the league sheet submitted, or just a plain and simple mistake.

It really shouldn't be that difficult to correct in the data base, but your local average book is another story.
