I'm actually afraid to bowl again...
« on: June 04, 2008, 08:15:43 AM »
I'm in a PBA league this summer. I've been struggling more than ever, and before last week was averaging a huge 160.
Last week I felt like a stranger had possessed my body - and shot 405.
Now I know all the stuff about "this is a tough shot", etc, etc. It's not about the score. It's about lack of ability.
I'm afraid to even bowl this week - Please share with me how you've overcome the terror...

Thanks!

im averageing 170 on a shot some people say is easy and many people say is hard... i consider myself a solid bowler i average around 185-190 to even 200 on all pba shots but to me the shot were bowling on now is crazy it seems like a reverse block im play inside ball hooks WAY early and out side the ball never hooks im just lost.

It could be a reverse block, but I think it is more likely to be the US Open pattern, what you described is exactly what i had to bowl on at the USBC Junior Pepsi California State Finals, which was the US Open pattern

its whatever he has out four our HOUSE SHOT, i dont get it when its fresh i have to thread the needle but after its been down for about 2 shifts of bowling i got the lane to hit. leftys are struggling huge all 3 games, rightys seem to strugle first game but start to bowl better the 2nd and 3rd game after it gets broken down a bit. ive actually bowled on the pba shots and had a much better shot.

i believe that its 45 feet(really long for a house shot) but inside plays like a 30 foot shot and outside plays like a 45 foot shot would with no hook.
