Green House Effect to remove oil??

Someone once told me to remove oil from your ball you could wait for a hot day. Then get a bowl and set your ball on it in a car. Let it set there and wipe it off as needed until oil stops coming out. Will this work? Will this hurt the ball? Does this remove those so called "plasticisers" (not sure how to spell) which Ebonite speaks of?? Please LMK. Thanks in advance. Kyle
